Practicing also involves so much more than actually playing your instrument or singing. There are rhythms, text and diction, translations, musical nuances, historical information to digest and learn. For singers, I advise my students to practice actually singing no more than 2 hours (at separate intervals) a day! Those other two hours are for continued learning.
